Story Telling

Behaviour Management

Not escalating a heightened person

Not inviting Power Struggles

"Tim, get out of classroom now" - It becomes a power struggle if the kid says "no". You can't physically force them.

"Tim, can you come see me" and then waiting - Go back to work even if you fake it. Don't wait on them to arrive.

Telling a kid they made a good choice to comply. You are telling their friends that they gave in and had no power.

Re-direct student to tasks of interest to them.
