Indigenous orang asli (people) involvement in the ecotourism development has complemented the ecotourism products in KKB and PFE through production of cultural and traditional products
(Orang Asli involvement has improved their livelihood)
Developed as a public good the ecotourism site of KKB does not impose any Entrance charges: Led to challenges when it comes to funding
Main source of funding comes from the allocation by Selangor state government.
Environmental attitudes and willingness to pay for highland conservations: The case of Fraser's hill, Malaysia
Responses were associated with respondents socio-economic backgrounds including age, education level and income
Tropical Highlands are great recreational retreats: Due to the greenery, forested ridges, hillcrest and waterfalls
Realizing the uniqueness and identity of KKB's nature, development actually destroys the reason people come to visit in the first place - New areas are encroached, irreparable damage occurs to the ecology
Development attracts non-nature tourists/visitors increasing traffic, pollution, noise and litter problems and certainly the decrease in enjoyment of the place.
Fraser's hill is currently a birdwatching spot in the country and attracts many keen nature enthusiasts.
There's a need to conserve and maintain the unique features in Fraser's hill without following the path of other hill resorts.

Redefining Nature-based tourism in Malaysia: Activities and Nature Sites
Simple defn:
Any tourism activity involving education, recreation and adventure
Malaysia's current definition of nature based tourism is vague, narrow and fragmented.
COVID-19 pandemic has seen the rise of domestic travel, creating multiple segments of tourists and has changed the ways of travel businesses and destination choices :
Many proactively start travelling to local destinations o relieve stress due to the MCO
Regular activity lowered the risk of more than 20 chronic illness, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Visiting nature-based destinations is strongly associated with psychological factors and wellness
Many people have been searching for nature based activities which they believe can improve physical and mental health after the long MCO order periods
Current environmental issues:
1. Landslides 2. Water shortages 3. Floods
Agricultural activities and timber extraction are part of the threats that affect the highland areas
