After the Commonwealth Games, the Athlete’s Village homes in Dalmarnock were turned into over 700 City Legacy Homes and the Emirates Arena (sporting venue) was also built.
+Regeneration of the area was effective as the Emirates Arena provides jobs as well as promoting a variety of sports in the area increasing well-being of residents

Glasgow Harbour development
Glasgow Harbour development was built on derelict dock land along the Clyde and consists of apartments and offices as well as retail and leisure areas.
-This was not effective as the Glasgow Harbour scheme was considered too expensive for the local population to buy.
Tackling poverty and climate change
The local authority aims to reduce C02 by 32% in houses to reduce climate change. This will be achieved through insulation.
+This is effective as it helps reduce fuel poverty and makes homes more affordable to residents.
+Also, residents and tenants can get grants to pay for the insulation so it will not cost them anything.
Building new homes by the council
Between 2017-2022 the city council aims to build at least 15,000 new homes as part of their housing strategy.
+This will be effective as it will provide jobs and generate economic activity.
Self-build new homes
The council are encouraging people to build their own homes. The Maryhill Transformational Regeneration Area is the first scheme in Scotland
It is part of a larger regeneration project to create a contemporary urban village with shops and community facilities
