Dennis Bennett had a charismatic experience leading to controversy and resigns. Bishop of Los Angeles bans speaking in tongues in traditional services. Bennett gets a job in a church and receives an abundance of spiritual gifts implementing it in that church
1963
'Cross and the Switchblade' is released. First Church of England congregation declares itself charasmatic

students at Duquesne university go home and read 'The Cross and the Switchblade', they all have a spiritual experience and speak in tongues. University of Notre Dame has annual conferences where spiritual gifts were received and thousands of Catholics around the world attended
Cardinal Leo Joseph Suenens goes to the Pope and says that the charasmatic movement is 'a high voltage current running through the church'
1975
Pope welcomes 10,000 charasmatic Christians to attend a conference on the Charasmatic Movement within the Catholic Church
1980s
Pope appoints a charasmatic priest as a preacher to the 'Papal Household', still holds this position
fasting growing movement was charasmatic House Church movement, made up of people who had charasmatic experiences left previous donominations and believed they were living in the 'Last Days'
21C
charasmatic experience becomes an established aspect of the Evangelical dominations and splinter churches emerge. Festival called Spring Harvest emerges in the UK and welcomes all donominations to rejoice and have charasmatic experiences

Healing
Healing as part of the Charismatic Experience also has it’s foundations in biblical text, – in Mark, Jesus encourages the disciples to go and spread the word of God, and tells them that ‘they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.’

Inspiration in Worship
Charismatic Worship provokes an emotional response where the mood becomes joyful and excited in anticipation of what gifts the Holy Spirit will provide
Worshippers will feel inspired to move their body and dance, clap, sing
No books are used, but words to songs (often modern) are displayed on large
screens.
