Making Friends by Andrew Matthews
Meet people in general
what I expected
is not equal to their wants, eg for sales or advantages or good or bad aims
I expected some for living necessity, some for friendships, some for my support, some for career, some for personal growth, some for family or relative building
the expected outcome is to gain happiness on my own. Others' perception are hard to control but can be influenced in a certain extent.
actually whether you would be happy with the relationship that quite depends on your attitudes and perceptions about the failure or conflicts or disappointments or suffering when getting along with others...
the first step to become a qualified person for being a friend of others: are you a valuable person who people would like to meet?
personal qualities: reliable? responsible? easy-going vs hard to approach? meaningful or not? self-image: high or low? initiative or taking risk or actions: confidently or cowardly? too self-centred or self-neglect? tend to be a listener vs speaker? know how to humours or always flight for your own? self-esteem enough?
