Kinds of Landforms
Volcanoes
A mountain through which molten earth, called lava, can flow.
Lava
Desert
An area of land that loses more water to the than it gets through precipitation.
Plateaus
2 sizes:
Medium sizes Mesas: an isolated flat-topped hill with steep sides, as found in arid and semi-arid areas of the US.
Smallish size buttes.
They are caused by erosions, magma.
Island
A piece of land surrounded by water in all sides.
Mountains
A large hill that has sides much steeper than the surrounding surface
Valley: a low area of land between two hills or mountains
Deltas
A triangle-shaped piece of land that forms at the mouth of a river.
Tectonic Plates
Tectonic plates are pieces of Earth's crust and uppermost mantle, together referred to as the lithosphere. (grafica)

Mechanical Weathering
Caused by:
-Frost, Ice, Plant Roots, Running water, Sun heat.

Chemical Weathering
involves changes that some substances can cause in the surface of the rock that make it chance shape, or color, like:
-Carbon Dioxide, oxygen and acids.
Erosion
the movement of weathered rocks by natural forces.
