Archaelogy
It is the study of what has been left behind by humans
Carbon 14 Dating (Radiocation)
Plants and animals contain carbon will decay overtime
Scientists can then see how much carbon is left in order to date it
Deodrochronology (Tree Ring)
Used to date wooden objects
Count the amount of rings in the side of a piece of wood to see how old it is
Stratigraphy
Dating an object by seeing how far down in the Earth it is
Palaeontology
It looks at the fossils and the remains of plants and animals (Most famously dinosaurs)
Types of Evidence
Primary Source
Is a source of evidence that comes from time of the event
Example
Census of Ireland
Secondary Source
Is a source of evidence that was made after the event happened
Census of Ireland
Census: An official survey of a country population given every few years
Bias, Objective and Propaganda
Bias
It is a unfairly favoring one side over the other without a valid reason
Objective
Having a reasoned (fair) opinion based on facts. (Opposite of bias)
Propaganda
Using the media (posters and tv etc) in order to influence people opinions in away which benefits you or your point of view.
