Artificial Intelligence (AI)

What is AI?

Machines that artificially incorporated with human like intelligence to perform tasks as we do, this intelligence is built using complex algorithms and mathematical functions.

AI is used in smartphones, cars, social media feeds, video games, banking, surveillance and many other aspects of our daily life.

What does an AI do at it's core?

Generalised learning: the ability to react appropriately to a new situation

Problem solving: the robot uses the given input and finds the solution for a problem

Reasoning: a robot must choose what is sensible based on the given circumstance - this portrays the robot's reasoning ability

These three capabilities make a robot artificially intelligent

In short, AI provides machines with the capability to adapt, reason, and provide solutions

Two broad categories in AI is classified into

Weak AI (also called narrow AI)

Focuses on one task - E.g Alexa- Alexa cannot answer a question it is not trained to answer

Stong AI

like robots that exist in fiction - E.g. Ultron is an ideal example of a strong AI, that't because it is self aware and eventually even develops emotions. - this makes the AI's response unpredictable

How is AI different from machine learning and deep learning?

Machine Learning is a technique to achieve AI

Deep Learning is a subset of machine learning

Machine leaning provides a machine with a capability to learn from data and experience through algorithms

Does this learning through ways inspired the human brain - this means through deep learning data and patterns can be better perceived (predicted)

Point of singularity: a prediction that by 2045 we would have robots as smart as humans

AI is built to work with humans and make our tasks easier, however with the maturation of technology we only wait and watch what the future of AI holds for us

AI can help analyse chronic conditions with the help of lab and other medical data to ensure early diagnosis

AI can also be used with advanced medical imaging to analyse and transform images

prescriptive analysis be performed on patient data for ensuring that the case is prioritised in real time and triage can be performed

audit systems that use AI can prevent prescription errors from and ensure the disease is properly identified

AI can be used for discovering drugs based on previous data and medical intelligence

It can be used to understand the human gene and it's components
