Sneer = verb --> Looks down on his people - shows he's selfish and only cares for himself
WHY
Shelley wrote this to show that Power has withered away over time
Shelley has also wrote this to show how Power is evil - corrupt as he uses it for his own gain
Command respect from them
'Look on my works, ye mighty and despair' - Wants other kings to regocnise he is more powerful
Quote is ironic as all the statues are gone, only one is left + is broken
Cold command = Alliteration --> Emphasises his power - treats his people harshly
Stern - No love for his people
Tiranical leader - Wanted more statues than anyone else to show how much power he had

Repetition of Kings - Shows the power - He's God like
The other kings will never be as powerful as him
WHY
'The hand that mocked them' - Ozy looked down on his people - Betrayed them and has no care or love for them
Evil - stern - Dictator
OzyMandias - Thinks he's born to lead
K in Kings - Ephasises misuse of power
Shelley wrote this to show that Rulers are corrupt
Thinks highly of himself
Doesn't care what anyone else thinks only cares for himself - Does things just to benefit him
