what is racism?
discrimination
dictionary definition
prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
my honest opinions
to quote Matin Luther King, people should 'not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.'
whats the difference between a white and black person? does the colour define them or their character.
Peope are too quick to judge
A persons race is out of their control, how they act and the strength of their character is really what they should be defined by.
we should have passed the point where race and ethnicity are still a defining factor of a person.
use imagery
imagine yourself in a different skin, your the same person, but others wont see that.
rhetorical questions
do you really think that the colour of someones skin or their religion makes them inferior to others?
we claim to be the superior species, but is our current behavior really what we think to be superior?
why are we so quick to judge when it comes to someones race?
repetition
walking down the road is 'dangerous', sitting next to a black person is 'dangerous', talking to a black person is 'dangerous', this should not be what a person thinks when they think of a person different to themselves.
