Isotonic Solutions: An isotonic solution is a solution that has equal concentrations of solute and water. There is no net water movement because it moves in and out of the cell equally
Hypertonic Solutions: A hypertonic solution is a solution that has a high solute concentration and a low water concentration. The net movement of water is out of the cell, (more water goes outside the cell).
Hypotonic Solutions: A hypotonic solution is a solution that has a low solute concentration and a high water concentration. The net water movement is into the cell.
