Act 4
Opening stage - Tyrone sits in the dark- quite miserably, drunk, "empty whiskey bottle", connotation of the fog, the game of solitre.
Drunk Ed enters - starts to quickly argue with tyrone about the light bulb. Tyrone being "cheap"" - high electric bills. ed further addresses his recentful view on tyrone's irish religion

Relationship between ed and tyrone are not revelated - thruout the play there hadnt been any specific mention between the two.
conversation - them to tend to have their own ways to escapism , obsession with past, past as a tool to go in denial, + alcholol

ending - Mary hallucinates, talks about her childhood and her wedding gown - tells ed not to touch her, with consumption as she tries to become a nun. Conversation with Mother Elizabeth

Act 3
Opening stage - Cathleen and mary having a convesation - well, not really, they cannot have a friendship
symbol of the fogforn - both mary and cathleen have negative evaluation, but, in different ways. Cathleen sees it as a supernatural firgure with her irish heritage, whilst mary sees it as something loud and distructing, not allowing her to escape from the reality
Act 1
Opening stage - playful, affectionate moment, starts with Tyrone and Mary. instant mention of mary's illness - she has gained a few pounds. tyrone seems to take care of her.
