Surface Tensions by Judith Butler: The work of Diane Arbus was established to document the different identities in society. Although, controversy surrounds the work she did, she paid close attention to those in society such as queer people, disabled people, etc that were documented in means to give these groups attention, stating that people, "resolved into its impermeability, its objectness, its surface, and its solitude," wanting to allow them to reclaim their space in society.
