5 MEALS A DAY: THE IDEAL DIET?
BREAKFAST
7:00 am – 8:00 am
It is the first meal of the day. It is maintained that it is the most important meal of the day, it has to be quite filling. You should have plenty of plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and greens.
LUNCH
It is one of the strong meals of the day and it does not have to be abundant. The important thing is that it is as balanced as possible and that it contains the maximum possible nutrients. For example, add meat or fish with a light first course.
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
SNACK
At snack it would be very good for us to take a handful of nuts, as they will provide us with great energy. Also, if we haven't had yogurt for lunch, this would be a good time to add it. If we accompany it with some nuts, it will be a complete food.
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
DINNER
It is important to have dinner at least two hours before going to sleep, and to have light foods, so that digestion is not difficult and you can fall asleep. Avoid excesses and fats. It is also advisable to steam, bake, grill or boil it.
9:00 pm – 10:00 pm
MIDMORNING
Lunch is between breakfast and lunch. It is a light snack, between 100 and 200 calories. It is an interesting meal, since it is very useful to not arrive at the meal with too much appetite. It is a perfect time to have a fruit, a small whole-grain sandwich or a yogurt with nuts.
