Lack of social bonding in the remote workspace
What the problem is
Remote working diminishes the social skills and social bonding
Why the problem has emerged
The main problem that remote workers face is that they are unable to build deeper social connections with each other, which eventually leads them to become socially isolated and lonely.
Face to face interaction is not present/required
Need for interaction is reduced
Lack of interaction after work(casual interactions)
Where this problem is present
All over the world
Online/in the remote workspace
Who this problem affects
This primarily affects remote workers of age 20-30 years. Specifically remote workers who have been unable to become connected with others and build a vibrant social circle around them.
How the problem is impacting the target audience
Lack of productivity
Lacking a sense of community and true purpose/meaning in the lives of these individuals will lead to the workers not being anywhere near as committed to the company's success as they could be. This would cause them to not want to spend much effort actually trying to go out of their comfort zones and make the most out of their work.
Loneliness/Social Isolation
Not being able to build deeper social connections between individuals can lead to a significant increase in that of loneliness and social isolation.
Mental health depreciation
Loneliness/Social Isolation has been observed to be highly influential and correlated with the mental health of an individual. Thus, with an increment in the loneliness of an individual, that individual's mental health will most likely truly deteriorate too.
Greater likelihood for burning out
Social connection has also been noticed to be a sort of "buffer" for burnout with numerous individuals, without this buffer in place, the chance for burning out also heightens.
