To predict how the legalization of Marijuana in the US will develop in the future, we looked at the trends over the last 20 to 30 years, specifically, how the policies against marijuana use in different states has changed, the piece of data that is easiest to analyze is how the number of states who legalized it has increased, decreased, or remained constant. However, to ensure accuracy in our prediction, we also looked at other stages of law aside from legalization such as adult-use legalization, medical use legalization, or decriminalization, each of which can represent a different attitude the state has towards the drug. The combination of all these factors demonstrated a general increase in the openness towards marijuana use, even the states who have not yet legalized it has taken steps towards it such as decriminalization.
