Promotion in School:
Clear Policies - policy set for the DP students in our school - for example - misconduct policy in school -
Misconduct includes:
Plagiarism: representing ideas or words of another person as one’s own.
Collusion: supporting misconduct by providing your work to another student.
Duplication of work: presentation of the same work for different assessment
components.
Any behaviour that gains an unfair advantage for the student or disadvantages
another student.
b) The following constitute misconduct during examinations:
Taking unauthorised material into the room.
Disruption or distracting another candidate.
Exchanging or supporting the exchange of information relevant to the examination.
Copying.
Not following instructions during the exams.
Stealing an examination paper
Ethical Education
All students taking the Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme are subject to the
following regulations taken from official IB publications:
Candidates are expected to acknowledge all sources used. This includes sources that
have been consulted, paraphrased or summarised. (Handbook of procedures for the
Middle Years Programme: Assessment 2017)
When completing their work, a candidate must clearly distinguish between their words
and those of others with the use of quotation marks (or other method, such as
indentation) followed by an appropriate in-text citation and accompanied by an entry
in the bibliography. (Handbook of procedures for the Middle Years Programme:
Assessment 2017)
Candidates are required to act in a responsible and ethical manner throughout their
participation in the Diploma Programme and examinations. In particular candidates
must avoid any form of misconduct. (Article 9: Diploma Programme General
Regulations)
The IB defines misconduct as behaviour that results in, or may result in, the candidate
or any other candidate gaining an unfair advantage in one or more assessment
components. (Article 24: Diploma Programme General Regulations)
