Babies are most likely to form attachments to caregivers who respond to their signals - not always who they spend the most time with: sensitive responsiveness
Most important factor: the adult who plays + communicates with them not the adult who feeds + changes them
Stages

3 months up to 7 months: distinguish the difference between main caregiver and other people, accept care from others
7 months up to 9 months: looks to particular people for safety, comfort + protection. Shows stranger anxiety
