Merchant
Many Kinds of businesses grew up in Quebec, Montreal and Trois-Rivieres. Some jobs are blacksmithing, Shoemaking, masons, Backing and butchering. many merchants made a living from the fur trade the imported goods from france the traded with the Innu the Ouendat and the Anishinabe, and the coureurs de bois.
Voyageurs
This french word means "traveller," the voyageurs were men from new France who travelled between the fur merchants of montreal and the fur trade posts of the great lake and eventually further west
coureur de Bois
Coureur de Bois means "runner of the wood" The term comes from the way some men in new france engaged in the fur trade by "running into the forest" to seek and trade with First Nations. they worked for themselves. At first the government of New France encouraged independently trading. Soon however it made independent trading illegal. This did not stop the the coureurs de bois, who sold their Furs wherever they could, even in british colonies.

Habitants were farmers who lived on seigneuries and they were often owned by seigneurs.( the name habitants = inhabitants)
seigneurs
Seigneurs are like landlords that received the land as grants from the king of France. most Seigneurs were men from noble families but women and commoners could be seigneurs too.
Soldiers
Many soldiers came to New France to Defend the colony against the Haudenosaunee and the British. king wanted military men to settle in New France he offered the officers to become seigneuries if the move because the only reason they joined the military was to make a living
Clergy/ Catholic Church
The clergy played an important role in the identity of New France, the Jesuits were an important part of the clergy. They covert groups like the Mi'kmaq, the kichesiprini, the Haudenosaunee and the Ouendat. The clergy established schools, hospitals and orphanages in New France, they also played an important part in governing the colony
