fever [body heats up to kill the pathogen], chills and sweats, cough, sore throat or new mouth sore, shortness of breath, nasal congestion, stiff neck, burning or pain with urination, unusual vaginal discharge or irritation, increased urination, redness, soreness, or swelling in any area [inflammation trying to get rid of a pathogen], diarrhea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen or rectum.
Hypotension can result from hypovolemia, septic shock, or toxic shock. Hyperventilation and respiratory alkalosis are common.
