Symptoms
Eating large amounts of food (even when someone might be full/not hungry).
Eating rapidly during binge episodes.
Feeling that their eating is out of control.
Frequently eating alone.
Feeling depressed, disgusted, generally upset about their eating.
Diagnostic Criteria
Recurring binge episodes (eating too rapidly, eating until feeling uncomfortably full, eating large food amounts even when not hungry, eating alone due to shame of how much is being consumed, feeling disgusted with self after overeating.).
Absence of typical compensatory behaviors (such as purging).
Distress on the topic of binge eating.
Statistics
Most common E.D, 50% diagnoses.
Diagnosed in teens more than adults. (Ratio of 4:3)

Partaking in extreme dieting
Poor self image
Stress
Risk Groups
People who are overweight/obese.
People with genetic and psychological disorders

Treatment
Psychotherapy (CBT or IPT possibly)/See a psychiatrist - (Rogers Memorial Hospital)
