Claim: Earth has changed over time due to the rock cycle, tectonic plates and aging rocks

Continental Drift There used to be a supercontinent called Pangea and it was a mass of land that was all connected. Now it is all spilt up and scientists expect a new supercontinent in the future
Connection- You can look at the earth as a pizza. The core can be seen as the oven that bakes the pizza. The mantle can be seen as the bread and sauce. And the crust can be the cheese. And finally the geological things on the surface can be seen as toppings.
-
Claim:Plate tectonics can rearrange continents. They also cause geological disasters. And have different types of boundaries
-
-
Boundaries There are 3 types of plate boundaries. The first one is convergent which is 2 plates pushing against each other. The second one is divergent when they push away from each other. The final one is transform. The transform is when they slide past each other
Reflection: a paragraph reflecting on your growth. Learning how Earth has changed over time has been a captivating exploration into our planet's history. Initially, I was drawn to the surface-level understanding of geological transformations, but as my knowledge deepened, so did my appreciation for the dynamic processes shaping Earth.
What was the best thing you learned about Earth's history? Probably learning about radiometric dating, I find it really interesting
How has your understanding of rocks changed? I though rocks were just rocks like nothing special about them. But now i know that they are so much more than that.

Dating rocks
Claim- Scientist can use radiometric dating to find the age, or they can use fossils in the rocks to also tell the age of a rock.
Evidence: Radiometric dating uses half lifes to tell the age of a rock. Also finding the age of fossils inside of rocks can help us better understand the age of the rock.
Fossils- show us how life was and we can use it as a way to predict the future and or predict what happened in the past. Also shows us how animals and plants were in the past.
Relative Dating- The farther down you go in a rock the older it is and the higher you go in a rock the younger it is. Or an earthquake can cause a fault. That allows new rock into way older stuff and crosscuts through it
Absolute Dating- Scientists use radiometric dating by using the amount of uranium and lead in a rock. Depending on how much there is of each that can help us figure out how old the rock is
Connection- Pizza can be dated all the way back to the 18th or 19th century. Pizza has changed lots about the world.
Rock cycle
Claim- Rocks form into 3 different types of rocks, each different from one another. They also change in many different ways.
