External Conflict
External conflict: Tala and Paco were fighting over the black stones that Tala found in the river. Tala and Paco didn't have a good relationship with each other and they continued fighting over the things that need to be searched on their computer to know more about the black stones when there were home.

PLOT

Rising Action
Paco wanted to take a look at them, but Tala didn't allows him to do it. She thought that Paco would take them from her like he always did. They were fighting with each other until finally Mrs.Yates calmed them down. After that, they went home.
Climax
During the journey toward their home, Tala and Paco argued about what kind of stones those stones were. Tala viewed them from the scientific perspectives, while Paco viewed them from the poetic or mystical persepctives. At home, they tried to search on the internet about the stones and argued with each other.
Falling Action
They finally proceed to fulfill both of their wants, searching about the black stones both from the scientific and mystical perspectives. They also heard about the legend of the Apache teardrops.
Resolution
Tala and Paco told their mom, Mrs.Yates about their findings and she was feeling happy. They finally improved their relation as family.

PLOT
Exposition
Desmond introduced himself to his classmates in his new school. He still have difficulties to adapt to the new environment and afraid that his new class mates have bad impressions of him.
Rising Action
Desmond began to noticed the girl that sit next to him. During class time, Mr.Tidewell began to talk about Jamaica. He asked Desmond to explained about Jamaica and hsi former school. His friends also asked him about his favorite sports, etc.
Climax
It's lunch and recess time, and Desmond ate his lunch alone. He began to ate his lunch when finally Lori and Matt started to approached him and introduced themselves to him. They began to talk about lots of things.
Falling Action
Desmond finally have two new friends. When he walked to his classroom, his other classmates began to approached him. They told him about how they families adapted and those stories inspireed him. He went home and began to talk with his old friends, Tanya and Lee, using his computer. He promised that they would talk everyday.
Resolution
Desmond, his mom and his dad had dinner together and talk about the challenges they faced in adapting to the new environment. Desmond felt happy that although he is far away from his home, his culture were still supporting him.
MORAL VALUE
It may takes time for us to adapt to new environment, but eventually we will adapt and adjust.
Similarities: Both stories contains about how a family is facing their challenges. In the story of "The Black Stones", the family was trying to come together and improve their relationships with each of the family member, especially between Tala and Paco. While in the story of 'Leaving Home", in the ending, there was a part where Desmond's family talk about the challenges they faced during adapting to the new country.
