We don't normally use the negative or question form of would for past habits. Note
that we can't usually use would to talk about past states.

We use the present perfect to talk about an action or event during a period of time that is still continuing.

What do we use for?
Be used to and get used to are followed by a noun, pronoun or the -ing form of a verb, and can be used about the past, present or future.
To talk about actions we did in the past, but we don’t do now.
Also, to talk about situations that were true in the past, but now no more.
