SATELLITES
Artificial body placed in orbit round the earth or moon or another planet in order to collect information or for communication.
A satellite works by receiving radio signals sent from the Earth and resending the radio signals back down to the Earth.

WORKING OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF SATELLITES
EO=>Satellite-based EO relies on the use of satellite-mounted payloads to gather imaging data about the Earth's characteristics.
COMMUNICATION=>Transmits the signal via a transponder by creating a channel between the transmitter and the receiver at different Earth locations
GPS=>These satellites are constantly sending out radio signals. GPS receivers are programmed to receive information about where each satellite is at any given moment.
NAVIGATION=>Operating on the designated orbit transmits radio navigation signals continuously under the control of the satellite clock
WEATHER=>Record or transmit images of the entire hemisphere below continuously with their visible-light and infrared sensors.
ASTRONOMICAL=>Satellite's vision is not clouded by the gases that make up the Earth's atmosphere, and its infrared imaging equipment is not confused by the heat of the Earth.
ISS=>The ISS orbits the Earth every 90 minutes, which gives the crew 16 sunrises and sunsets every day.
POLAR=>Revolve around the earth in a north-south direction around the earth as opposed to east-west like the geostationary satellites.
APPLICATION OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF SATELLITES
COMMUNICATION=>Telephone, radio, television, internet, and military applications
WEATHER=> Detect the development and movement of storm systems and other cloud patterns
ISS=>Used for the trials of spaceship equipment and systems that are needed for Mars and Moon missions.
ASTRONOMICAL=>Geodetic position, speed, and direction of a surface vehicle or aircraft, north reference, and vertical reference.
EO=>Agriculture, water resources, urban planning, rural development, mineral prospecting, environment, forestry, ocean resources and disaster management.
POLAR=>Weather applications where predicting weather and climate-based disasters can be done in a short time.
NAVIGATION=> They can be used to make star maps.
GPS=>LOCATION,MAPPING,TRAKING
