since the 17th century europeans emigrants mainly from england
settled on the east ciast of North America
because had fled political instability and relogious persecution in their countries of origin
british monarchy organised the colonists into 13 demarcations or colonies
had to pay series of taxes to the british crwon
governos as the king´s representative, held the highest authority ( military power )
for otter matters, colonists ruled themselves through the colonial assemblies
seven years war ( 1756-1763 )
was between Great Britain and France
after it British created a large permanent army in America
forced colonists to fund it through new taxes
the colonists rebelled
slogan was: "no taxation without representation"
because they had no representatives in the London parliament
revolutionary process
began in 1776 dekegates frim 13 colonies met in Philadelphia
declarated de independence from Great Britain and George's III rule
colonies became known as states, the new country was called
United States of America
American War of Independence
caused because the oppose of the British to the changes
France, Spain and the United Provinces supported the colonists
Battle of Saratiga and Battle of Yorktown
after these two battles won by the colonists led by George Washington
peace of Paris was signed in 1783
