Representation
Gender
Galaxy
Women have a positive representation in this advert. We can see this because Audrey Hepburn is shown as an independent woman, like when she puts the hat on the man in the car to get him to drive her where she needs after the bus crashes. This is good representation as Audrey Hepburn is an actress from the 50s so this breaks what would be normal at the time where women were seen as reliant on men.
Represent
In this advert, women are shown as being in many job roles, especially male dominated jobs. Men are also shown in good job roles so this advert shows them as equal.
OMO
OMO does not have a good representation of gender unlike the other two as it uses harmful stereotypes of women. Specifically cleaning as this is a washing product and the woman is shown hanging clothes up on a washing line which is following negative stereotypes of the time
Ethnicity
OMO
OMO has a negative representation of ethnicity as there is only a white person on the front. This is also a harmful stereotype as she is shown as the 'perfect housewife' as she has white skin and put up brown hair
Represent
Represent has a positive representation of ethnicity as it has a focus on black and asian communities. This advert shows these communities in successful job roles.
Galaxy
Galaxy also has a negative representation of ethnicity as every character shown in the advert is white. This is similar to the OMO advert as it is also set in the 1950s (omo was made in the 50s) where black people were seen as lower than white people.
Social Class
OMO
Represent
Social class is represented well in the represent advert as a large variety of jobs are shown as the same which shows they are all equal
