PHISHING (EMAIL OR TEXT) - Phishing is a type of social engineering. Phishing attacks often send an email or text pretending it is from a trusted organisation such as a bank, the tax office, a parcel delivery company etc. They try to trick people into giving away account information. They do this by pretending there is a problem, e.g. missed parcel delivery, rejected bank payment etc. Within the email/text is usually a ‘call-to-action’, telling the user to ‘click here’ to solve the problem. Clicking on the link often takes you to a fake, but very convincing looking website.
