Singpass employs Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) methods such Face Verification and SMS One-Time Passwords (OTP) to provide an additional layer of security to better protect users’ personal data.
Login with fingerprint, face or 6-digit passcode, without the need to enter long passwords.
These provide additional security for users’ personal data and a diversity of user choices to best fit the needs of all citizens and residents
What is Singpass (Tech.gov.sg, 2020)
Singpass is managed by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) and is one of eight strategic national projects that drive Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.
Launched in 2003, Singpass is the cornerstone of Singapore’s NDI (National digital identity) initiative. It is a personal authentication system that allows users to access government and business services online through a single login.
Accessibility
The Singpass app is built with accessibility features like dark mode and screen reader compatibility to help the visually impaired navigate the app with ease. (Tech.gov.sg, 2023)
