Why people have idols religiously (or even marginally) rather than the only God?

something like money, sex/love, some sorts of relationships, or power, social status or roles, or possessions are too overwhelming personally or socially
how people connect to idols?

his unique name - the LORD
advice or warnings
not to make any idol for you anywhere
turned from your idols to the only God
not to give glory or praise to idols
keep yourselves from idols
nature of idols
work of human hands
so many everywhere
idol food is nothing at all actually
idols are nothing
the things people treasure are worthless
if worthless, why people follow the idol?
