What is money?

Play "Shop"
Set up a pretend store using toys, and use play money or simple price tags. Let your child take on the role of both the shopkeeper and the customer. They can learn about making purchases, counting money, and giving change.
Counting Coins:
Teach child to recognize different coins and their values. Practice counting coins together. You can use real or play coins for this activity.
Matching Games:
Create a matching game with pictures of coins or bills. Match the image of a coin to its value, helping children understand the worth of each.
Sorting Coins:
Give children a handful of coins and ask them to sort them by type (e.g., pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters). This activity helps with coin recognition.
Storytime with Money:
Read children's books that include money-related themes or stories. Discuss the money-related concepts in the book afterward.

Role Play -
Arrange a designated area with a small table or space where the children can play doctor. Place the toy medical kit and the dolls/stuffed animals in this area.
Teacher
Role Play
Create a designated area as the classroom. Set up chairs and a table to serve as a classroom desk Plan group activities, like coloring or solving simple math problems, where students can participate. Rotate the roles so that each child has a turn being the teacher, students, or helper.
Firefighter
Role Play
Create a designated area as the "fire station" or "headquarters" for the firefighters. Place the firefighter hats or costumes and props in this area.Create an imaginary "burning building" in the play area using cushions or cardboard boxes. You can use red and orange paper to represent flames.

Saving
Savings Jar:
Create a savings jar or piggy bank for your child. Encourage them to save their allowance or spare change. Discuss the concept of saving for something they want and setting financial goals.
Allowance Management:
If children receives an allowance, help them manage it. Encourage them to allocate a portion for saving, spending, and giving. This teaches budgeting skills.

Donation Box at Home:
Place a donation box in children home where the child can deposit items they no longer need, such as toys, clothes, or books. Explain that these items will be donated to those who can use them.
