Newton's laws
Newton's first law
Def: Every object will continue in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line until a resultant force acts on it
Newton's second law
Def: When a resultant force acts on an object of a constant mass, the object will accelerate in the direction of the resultant force
-
Newton's third law
Def: if body A exerts a force on body B, then body B will exert an equal and opposite force on body A
-
Resultant force
When more than one force acts on an object we need to consider the direction of each force to know the resultant force
The resultant force acting on the ball towards the left is lesser than the force acting on the ball towards the right,
-
Thus, making the ball go to the right
