skimming
contactless/mobile
contactless/mobile paying can be bad because of how someone could take your card, and spend up to £100 and they wouldn't be questioned on whether the card is theirs or not.
In person
skimming in person happens usually in restaurants, when a waiter/waitress has your card so that you can pay and they either ''accidentally drop your card'' and go to pick it up and when they are standing up they scan it on a secret card reader in their trousers, shoes or socks that steals your information. this can also happen when they get your card, and turn around with it and while doing that, scan it. never let your card go out of your site.
ATM
in an atm, skimming can happen because scammers place fake keyboards that copy your code and some put fake card readers over the real one that can copy your card information and some have cameras that record your pin number. check for fake things by seeing if they can wobble or if they feel fake or look fake
hidden
hidden skimming is usually in a busy area like a crowded train and it happens when the skimmer has a card reader and they tap the pockets of the victims with the card reader and steal their information without the victims knowing.
card capture
card capture is when someone steals your card or phone and buys things, and if they want to they can spend up to £100 without you knowing. this can be prevented by always keeping your card from leaving your sight.
privacy online
to protect yourself from people online, never post any personal information onto social media, like your address, your age and even pictures of yourself can be risky and are quite a bad idea at young ages.
Phishing/identity theft
identity theft happens when a scammer gets as much information about their victim, and uses it to either blackmail or steal from you.
Online presence
Your online presence is the trail of data left behind when you use the internet, it is also called a digital footprint and is next to impossible to get rid of. it is made of all of the comments, pictures, messages and more that you post on the internet.https://www.arimetrics.com/en/digital-glossary/online-presence
viruses and hackers
a virus gets downloaded onto your computer and can resort in it being broken and your information being stolen. hackers can get into your computer and steal personal information. to stop hackers you should download a firewall software to stop them and to stop viruses you should download an anti-virus software that scans your device for viruses.
social networking
social networking refers too gaming, gambling and addiction, so when you are gaming always try to play with people you know, and if you dont know them and they want to play with them, block them. never talk with anyone online that you dont know. Also always have a time and money limit when gambling, or just dont do it.
