Testring:
Tear resistance testing: The Elmendorf tear test is the most widely used for paper and board. It calculates how much force is used to continue a tear in a sample. Samples are partially cut and clamped in position. A pendulum tears the sample and continues to a resting point which is noted on a scale in Elmendorf units.
Folding and Creasing:
Folding: in industry means to create a shape e.g. a box, an envelope or pamphlet
Creasing: involves making a line that is permanently present after the material has been creased or folded either by hand or with a creasing rule
