Hand held portable fan - Coggle Diagram
Hand held portable fan
A portable fan is a great measure in order to enhance student experience on campus as it reduces the disorientation caused within lessons and around campus as a result of high temperature weather conditions.
Typically these fans are small and therefore easy to carry around thanks to their portable design.
Handheld fans can be powered by different sources however in a learning environment, a rechargeable fan would be most convenient.
Due to British standards and safety reason, most fan blades are now made of plastic. This vastly minimises the risk of injury should skin make contact with the fan blades and puts further emphasis on the lightweight design. In order to put further emphasis on the safe blade design, many bladeless fans have also been designed.
The housing of handheld fans is often plastic. This is due to it's versatile properties and its's lightweight yet durable characteristics. In addition to this, the use of recyclable plastics means that they can be 100% recyclable.
In addition to what's already been mentioned, there are many other features which put an even greater emphasis on overall convenience. Some of these include:
An adjustable head that can be tilted or rotated to direct airflow in different directions.
Soft rubber coatings in order to enhance grip and overall comfort when in use.
Handheld fans often consist of multiple speed settings in order to allow for the user to adjust the airflow to their desired velocity. Common speed settings include: low, medium and high.
They are generally designed to operate quietly, especially on lower speed settings.
Noise level can vary between different models, and some fans may have a "quiet" mode.
Some handheld fans even consist of a folding option in order to make them even easier to store/ carry around on a daily basis.
