Potential Diagnosis
Multiple Myeloma - The bone marrow biopsy revealed increased abnormal plasma cells such as 40% ostelytic cells which are mature cells suggesting bone marrow dysfunction. The blood test revealed hypercalcemia, increased M- band, increased CD38 and CD 138 and positive bence-jones proteins, all of which are conclusive with multiple myeloma. Additionally, skull X-ray revealed lesions that appeared as raindrops which further concludes the multiple myeloma suspicion. Lastly, upon physical examination, the patient experienced bone pain without obvious injury and shortness of breath (dyspnea) on exertion. All of the aforementioned deduce the diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
