Ideas
(This might not work as well as I was hoping. For example, when I looked up the part number on Fastenal, it took me to a different part that had the same part number... neat idea though. Might still be useful...)
Auto Search Vendor Website(s)
Example:
https://www.fastenal.com/product?query=76083&fsi=1
Note:
URL is the same when searching, except
76083
is the part number.
Add a button or hotlink for inventory items that will automatically use a vendor website's search or product query URL to search the website for a part. Option 1: create a button on the user form that will do this for all vendors associated with the item. Option 2: Create a hotlink that's formatted plug the part number into the vendors query URL...
(It doesn't look like this is possible, but keep researching...)
Make it so that when looking at an inventory item, it takes you to the vendor or manufacturer website when you click on the vendor or manufacturer.

Notes
Dynamic Items & ID's
All
Dynamic
connections should be to an
item ID
so that in the event that an
item name
changes, it will remain connected to it's
parent & child items.
Referencing an
item
by
ID
may not be necessary to achieve safe connections. This should be tested, and it is recommended that
item ID
remain a visible
column
for the time being.

Notes
Sub Folder Naming
Sub folders
for
machines
and
program archives
should be named with
item ID's
, to preserve the
folder
, in case someone changes the
item name
on the
list
.
