What is a case study?
Real Life situations
Account of approach a company adopts to solve a specific problem or overcome a certain challenge.
Relates to decisions that need to be taken or events that must be dealt with daily.
Records events and responses that have been dealt with.

3 Principles on how to analyse a case study
Read the case study several time
Clearly identify the issues that need to be addressed.
Make an effort to obtain a factual matrix which includes but not limited to obtaining facts which led to the situation, considering core circumstances, events and facts surrounding the issue
7 Likely elements to consider when analysing a case study
Consider the history, development & growth of company over time.
Consider the recognition of the entity's internal strength and weaknesses (SWOT analysis considered).
Consider the temperament of the external environment surrounding the company (SWOT analysis considered).
Consider the kind of corporate-level strategy pursued by the company.
Consider the company's structure and control systems relative to its strategy.
Consider the financial statements of company.
Make own recommendations in objective manner.
10 Important points to consider when analysing a case study
Study the case study to ensure to expose any hidden stories in the case study.
Provide supporting evidence with any answers/opinions/recomendations
Find out which concepts and analytical tools have been used which not only work in theory but also practically.
Provide recommendations in their order of feasibility.
Do a thorough analysis of the company's current situation
Provide reasons for suggestions or recommendations.
List all the problems and issues identified in the case study.
Re-consider and review the suggested plan to ensure all problems/issues are covered.
Be familiar with the case study - read at least twice
Avoid giving recommendations or suggestions which could do more harm if the recoomendaiton or suggestion does not materialise as planned.

Recommendations should be inline with the analyses.
Recommendations must be supported by evidence.

How to write a report?
Suggested structure to follow for the report (for every recommendation steps 3 and 4 must be repeated.)

Basics to consider
Start with a point of agreement (make a statement) and then elaborate.
Make use of short sentences.
Use plain language which a layperson may understand. Report must be written in such a way as not to be question or create any uncertainties.
Follow logical structure with where a thought process is clear.
Be objective - consider both sides of the argument and do not be objective.
Every word serves as a function. One idea per paragraph.
Make use of British English.
Avoid: 8.1 shortened words, 8.2 Avoid cliches, 8.3 Emotional writing, 8.4 Avoid casual language.
Write in third person - objectively
Do not use fancy word. Write plain language.
