How it works
The circulatory system is responsible for delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells and removing waste products. The heart, blood, and blood vessels work together to service the cells of the body. Blood carries carbon dioxide to the lungs and picks up oxygen. The circulatory system consists of two main loops, systemic circulation, and pulmonary circulation. The heart pumps about five quarts of blood every minute and beats about one hundred thousand times in one day. The cardiovascular system circulates blood and oxygen around the body. The circulatory system is made up of blood vessels that carry blood away from and towards the heart. Arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carry blood back to the heart.
Digestion works by moving food through the GI tract. Digestion begins in the mouth with chewing and ends in the small intestine. As food passes through the GI tract, it mixes with digestive juices, causing large molecules of food to break down into smaller molecules it also makes nutrients for the body These can then be absorbed into your blood, so your body can use them for energy, growth and repair.
The nervous system uses tiny cells called neurons to send messages back and forth from the brain, through the spinal cord, to the nerves throughout the body. Billions of neurons work together to create a communication network. Different neurons have different jobs.Like some are responsible for pain
The respiratory system's main job is to move fresh air into your body while removing waste gases. Once in the lungs, oxygen is moved into the bloodstream and carried through your body. At each cell in your body, oxygen is exchanged for a waste gas called carbon dioxide.
How it is connected
How it is connected
How it is connected
Your heart pumps blood through a complex network of blood vessels. When your blood circulates through your digestive system, for example, it picks up nutrients your body absorbed from your last meal. Your blood also carries oxygen inhaled by the lungs
The respiratory system mainly consists of the lung. The hearts job is to push the non oxygenated blood to the lungs using pulmonary arteries and then the blood is then oxygenated and after that the blood goes back to the heart through coronary veins where it gives it to other organs.
The heart is connected to is the nervous system which mainly consists of the brain and spinal cord. The brain is connected to the heart because the brain sends out signals to the heart regarding there heartbeat so the brain can say to the heart to beat faster as not enough oxygen is in the body.
