Fraction
Dividing a fraction by a whole number
when you divide a fraction by a whole number, you need to do the following steps: keep, switch, and flip. one example will be 1/2/3 =1/2/3/1= 1/2*1/3=1/6.
Reciprocal fractions are a pair of fractions that are reciprocals of each other, and their product is one.
What is a fraction
A fraction is any part of a group, number, or whole, like 1/2
Improper fraction is the numerator bigger than the denominator, like 3/2 mixed number is a whole number with a proper fraction, like 1 1/2
dividing by a proper fraction
all you need to do is to change the whole number into a fraction, and do the steps keep switch and flip.
Algebra
What is Algebra?
Algebra is a letter that is used to represent an unknown number. for example, four plus a number is seven, can be written as 4+X=7, five times a number can be written as 5X, a number divided by five can be written as X/5.
Evaluating (evaluating means to find the value of something) Algebraic Expressions
One example will be if you want to evaluate X+9 if X=7, then we can represent X with 7 and we will get 7+9 which is 16. if we want to evaluate 2N+8 if N=26, we need to do the following: 2N+8= 2
N+8= 2
26+8= 52+8=60 so, 2N+8 is 60 when N=26.
Simplifying Algebraic Expressions
Simplifying algebraic expressions is very easy, for example, X+X+X= 3*X= 3X. another difficulted example will be like, 10M+9+7M-7.the way to sort out this problem will be 10M+9+7M-7= 10M+7M+9-7= 17M+2.
