DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
In control system engineering, differential equations are essential. Dynamic systems, or systems that vary over time, are modelled and their behaviour is analysed using them.
Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs): ODEs express a system's dynamic behaviour in terms of a single independent variable, frequently time. They are frequently used to simulate the behaviour of mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems, among other physical systems.
-
State-Space Equations: Another popular technique for characterising a dynamic system's behaviour is state-space representation. It is composed of a series of first-order ODEs that together capture the dynamics of the system. In the study and design of control systems, state-space equations are frequently utilised.
Example:x(t) = A.x(t) + B.u(t)
y(t) = C.x(t) + D.u(t)
x(t) : state vector
u(t) : input
y(t) : output
A,B,C & D : matrices that define systemReferences

Air-Conditioner
4 Major Components
- Evaporator (receives the liquid refrigerant)
- Condenser (facilitates heat transfer)
- Expansion Valve (regulates refrigerant flow into evaporator)
- Compressor (a pump that pressurizes refrigerant)
