Online-Safety :
Online Presence
Online presence is all the activity and content that a person or a business has under its name on the internet. This includes accounts, assets, interactions, and any pieces of information created by or about the person or business.
It is really easy to create a digital footprint. For example sending a simple text gives you a footprint across the web.every search every image you send every site you visit or create all can be traced, traced back to YOU!
how to prevent it from hurting you in the future
Well, the easiest way to prevent it is to not use the wide web at all. But that's practically impossible with today's world; you probably need to search or use something on the web to help you understand something. But you could…
Delete old email and email accounts that aren’t important or that you don't use anymore
Don’t show personal details or spread information
Phishing
Phishing is when criminals use you to get what they want. for example, instead of hacking you they make you do the work for them in disguise, like a fake amazon email saying you have to pay a huge sum of money.
You can prevent this from happening by digging in deeper and not giving your hard earned money straight away.
don't click suspicions emails
change up your passwords
dont keep them simple
Skimming
It is when people use some sort of scanner or camera to look at your card details and use it to their advantage and take whatever they want using the money from YOUR card.
People an use a sort of jammer in the card hole so when you put it in the card gets stuck, money doesn’t come out or when you have to pay for food and the waiter/waitress scans your card, but if they take your card they could use some kind of card scanner to take your money without you knowing it.
when taking money out of a atm look for cameras ect.
try move the ATM pin area or card slot ,see if it moves about, if does it could have been placed there to see your pin or read your card
look for glue or marks left near the important parts of the ATM like pi card slot.

censorship
Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information. This may be done on the basis that such material is considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or "inconvenient". Censorship can be conducted by governments, private institutions and other controlling bodies.
Moral censorship is the removal of materials that are obscene or otherwise considered morally questionable. Pornography, for example, is often censored under this rationale, especially child pornography, which is illegal and censored in most jurisdictions in the world.
How can censorship be harmful?
Censorship Violates Freedom of Speech
When freedom of speech is restricted, people will be afraid of speaking out about evil practices in society. In the name of blocking harmful information, censorship restricts real information that empowers local communities. The lack of access to truths often leads to ignorance.
Hackers
well what is a hacker?
there are three types of hackers
white hats
grey hats
black hats
white hat hackers are people who legally can hack. what i mean is that they usually get picked by companies that want them to try and hack them(to test their security system).they have good intentions
grey hat hackers don't usually have bad intentions, they just don't follow the rules and illegally hack, not normally for a bad purpose but use any data they can get. it all just comes down to how good they are as a person
black hat hackers are what society associate when they think "hackers". they don't care if they break the law to get what they want at the expense of other people, and sometimes they just do it to cause a problem; messing with websites, business services etc. they steal and sell information for their own benefit and don't care what ruckus they cause for someone else.
social networking
using online social media platforms to connect with new and existing friends, family, colleagues, and businesses.
but it can also be bad for you. for example you could get addicted to things like gambling or gaming or get immersed into fake news
to prevent things like this happening you could, 1. set time limits to your devices and stick to it, 2. do not use your real name in gaming nicknames and 3. don't talk to random people you don't know

it is very common to get addicted to things like this, and to some people, they don't see it as an addiction because its so so small. but it can have an impact, like feeling like you have to reply as soon as someone texts you and other "small" things like that.
Identity Theft
How do I prevent it?
Keep important details like phone numbers account details away so you and only you know where they are
Use different passwords for different things because if someone has a password for one thing they have the password for EVERYTHING!
If you leave our passwords or account information people come and steal it to use for their benefit.
Identity theft is when someone takes your personal details and pretends to be you and gets all of the benefits and leaves you with troubles, missing money, feeling scared to the point where they are basically you (legally).
There are connections to these subjects such as phishing and skimming which are both about trying to steal your data but do it in different ways
