Summative Assessment- This is a "high stakes" assessment which means there is a grade that is provided and is given at the end of the lesson to evaluate students.
A mid-term Exam- A way to assess students at the mid-year mark to pinpoint their knowledge within that period.
A final project-
A final project is where students must demonstrate their understanding of that unit/lesson by physically putting something to together.
Performance Assessment- This assessment is where students have to demonstrate their comprehension through open-ended tasks.
Open-ended questions- This gives the students the chance to respond to a topic or lesson and display their level of thinking through their responses.
Portfolios- A display of all the assignments a students compiled together throughout a semester or year put into a portfolio to show the teacher.
Diagnostic Assessment- This is an assessment where students are pre-assessed to determine where a student's level of understanding is at.
KWL Charts- An assessment that tracks a student's level of understanding through a chart. What do you already know about the topic? What do you want to learn about? L-What you learned from the topic/story.

Discussions--An assessment where all students are involved and encouraged to engage in. This gives the teacher the opportunity to address any misconceptions that students may have.
Formative Assessment- This assessment is usually "low stakes" which means there is little to no grade provided for assignments. It gives teachers a pinpoint of where to focus during instruction/lessons regarding their strengths and weaknesses. The teacher can adjust their instruction/lesson according to their student's performance. Formative assessments are usually during instruction.
Exit Tickets-
An assessment that collects feedback on students understanding of the lessons and teachers can adjust them or modify them as needed.

Thumbs-Up Responses-
A quick assessment that gives students the opportunity of encouragement to engage by applying their different developmental needs.

Interim/Benchmark Assessment- This assessment is given at different periods in the school year to assess students in their content. Interim/benchmark testing happens at a set period during the beginning or middle of the year. When it comes to the spring, it more review time over the assessments taken.
Chapter test- At the end of every chapter quiz, students measuring their understanding a quiz.
