Formative
Definition : Assessments that are used to identify students learning and gather evidence from it. They can be used to adjust instruction and provide adequate feedback for further achievement.
Exit Ticket Students will complete an exit ticket with 1-3 questions at the end of class lesson to ensure they have learned the objective.
Kahoot Students will complete a Kahoot during class that aligns with the lessons objective. This will give students immediate feedback between questions and results of students answers will be given to assess their learning.
Summative
Definition:Assessment that occurs at the end of a large unit of learning. Used to review students overall understanding.
Final Project Students will complete a final project at the end of a unit that requires them to contribute each aspect of the units objective. (An example could be a final report)

Interim/ Benchmark
Definition : Used at the end of a semester or unit to administer students achievement and learning throughout the school year.
STAAR -Assessment that is given at the end of the school year to assess students knowledge of a core subject at their grade level.
MAP Test (Measure of Academic Progress)- used to to measure student achievement to identify students strengths and their needs.
Diagnostic
Definition: Assessments that are used to assess a students current level knowledge, before a lesson or unit. This can be used to alter instruction based on the students response or scores.

Entry Slips: Similar to exit tickets, but instead students will use what they know or how well they understand the material before beginning class.
Pre Quiz: A quiz that has similar questions to a summative assessment that is given before beginning a new material. It is used to assess what students collectively know and do not know.
Performance
Definition: assessment that requires students to demonstrate their knowledge by applying what they have learned.

Open ended Response: Students will answer a prompt based on the lessons objective that can have more than one right answer.
Student Choice Project: Students can pick how they would want to present an end of unit or lesson project based on their learning choice. These can include making a video, presentation, narrate a story, etc.
