Summative Assessments
Midterm: A test students take at the midpoint of a particular unit that covers all content up to that point in the unit.
Final Project: An interactive project designed to showcase the students accumulative knowledge on the given unit. For example for a WWII unit you may assign a project where a student takes the role of a country involved in the Treaty of Versaille
In-term/Benchmark
Definition:In-Term/Benchmark assessments are used to see where the student where the students knowledge is within the unit and determine whether or not they are on track with the rest of class.

STAAR/State Assessment: These are state mandated assessments in each subject to gauge where students are in respect to a state defined level of comprehension for a given grade.
District Assessment: This is a district wide assessment used to gauge where the student body is in a certain subject with an eye toward a state assessment.
Formative
Definition:Formative assessments is a way of assessing students to get feedback to use for modifying and adjusting instruction. Low stakes, little to no grade value.
Summary Assignment: Students write a summary of a certain topic covered or of a particular unit topic (normally one that will be covered in a assumptive assessment).
Exit Tickets:This normally consists of a quick write, to asses the students knowledge of what was covered in that days information.
Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic assessments are used to as forms of pre-assessments to determine students strengths and weaknesses. This information can help a teacher adjust units to their students particular needs.
Running Records: A tracking system that allows teacher to see where a student has struggled or succeeded in past units.
Pre-Unit Check-in:This can be a quick right or a short multiple choice test to get a sense of where the students knowledge is of an upcoming unit.
Performative
Definition: A performative assessment is an assessment where a student is required to perform a task rather than regular tests or question answering.
World Cafe: The World Café strategy

Model UN:Model UN is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and its other multilateral bodies where students perform an ambassador role while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more.
Definition: The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark. High stakes, high point value. Examples of summative assessments include: a midterm exam. a final project.
