Aspects of spoken word performance
Poetic devices
Here are some of the poetic devices that I can implement in my spoken word art.
Repetition - To add emphasis to certain parts of the poem
Metaphors/Similes - To add a deeper meaning and not say things very directly to the audience
Imagery - So that the audience can visualise certain parts of the poem and associate an image with the words.
Idioms - For the audience to draw connections and understand certain phrases.
Pros (of the topic of optimism)
Passionate topic for me to speak about
Something I can feel authentic when speaking
Audience can relate easily
Lot of content/material to use
Personal for me (speaking from expierence)
Cons (of the topic of optimism)
Might have similar sounding diction to other poems about resilience, hopefulness, etc
Difficulty in implementing poetic devices in this poem
There is a chance it will sound repetitive
