Methodology
Sample : All 35 PISMP students in IPBA
Instrument: A survey questionnaire with 20 items was used.
Data Collection: The survey questionnaire was administered to the sample, and verbal instructions were given to ensure correct response
Data Analysis: The attitude of PISMP students towards English in general was determined based on the summed ratings, using specific criteria. A score of 29 to 47 indicated an unfavorable attitude, while a score of 76 to 100 was considered favorable.

The use of teaching methods such as listening to English songs or watching English movies.
The lectures can be held in different places like Self Access Centre and library.

Introduction
IPBA is a teacher-training institute with about 500 students undergoing various courses such as the PISMP and Bachelor of Education (TESL) programme.
PISMP students in IPBA are expected to be proficient in English as the nation emphasizes English language proficiency to compete globally.
Aim of the research
The study assessed whether PISMP students have a favorable attitude towards the English language and the culture of English-speaking people.
Provide insights into the students’ thoughts and emotions about English, which can be useful for planning new English courses
To help lecturers better prepare their lectures by understanding the attitude of PISMP students towards English
Methodology
35 PISMP students were selected to answer the survey questionnaire.
A 20-item survey questionnaire was used.
The sample was administered a survey questionnaire with 20 items, and verbal instructions were given to ensure correct response.
Conclusion
PISMP students have a positive attitude towards English and English-speaking culture, indicating that they are not prejudiced or fearful of learning English as a second language.

The attitude of PISMP students towards English was determined by summing the ratings for all items. A score of 29 to 47 indicates an unfavorable attitude, while a score of 76 to 100 indicates a favorable attitude.
Recommendations
Lecturers can improve their lectures by adding new courses, enhancing existing ones, and using teaching methods like listening to English songs or watching movies. This is because PISMP students have a moderate attitude towards English. Holding lectures in different locations can also help prevent boredom.
Results
The attitude of PISMP students towards the English language was determined based on the rating of specific items, with a score of 11 to 23 indicating an unfavorable attitude and a score of 37 to 55 indicating a favorable attitude.
The composite mean for the sample as a whole was obtained for attitude towards English in general, the English language, and the culture of English-speaking people.

The attitude of PISMP students towards English in general is generally positive, with 14.29% having a favorable attitude, 85.71% having a moderate attitude, and none having an unfavorable attitude
The PISMP students had a fairly positive attitude towards English in general, the English language, and the culture of English-speaking people, with the highest mean for the English language and the lowest mean for the culture of English-speaking people.
