Diagnostic
Definition: This assessment is used to determine where the current student is at before learning the content. This can be geared to the students specific needs.
Surveys: At the beginning of the content, each student is expected to take a survey on the content based off of what they know and do not know. This assessment is not usually a grade, just to see where the students are on levels.
KWL-Charts: Students write down, what they know about the topic being introduced. What they want to know and what they have learned after seeing a little portion.
Formative
Definition: Assessments used in the classroom, by gathering evidence based off their needs to make instruction more clear.
CFA: Checkpoints every week through out the content to make sure the students understand what is being taught.
Homework: Students are given homework for them to complete on their own. Turned in the next day for either a grade or check their understanding.
Interim/Benchmark
Definition: This assessment is given during intervals of the learning, to make sure the students are not getting lost with the content.
District Assessment: At the end of the 9 weeks, students are expected to take a test based off of what they have learned. This is 20 questions, completed on their own.
CFA: Checkpoints every week through out the content to make sure the students understand what is being taught.
