When a patient's blood glucose is above normal, the urination is increased (polyuria), which can lead to dehydration.
When body cells do not receive the glucose they need for energy, the body will burn fat for energy.
this produce ketones, which is acid waste
When the ketone levels go up in the blood, they spill into the urine
