        (June) Started the Korean War
        -North Korean crossed the 38th parallel and attacked South Korea
        -Truman committed his forces to fight with UN after UN demanded North Korea to stop
        -North Korea pushed to Pusan
        
        (July) UN joint command was created and led by Douglas MacArthur
        
        (February) Sino-Soviet alliance signed
        -They promised to protect each other when attacked and Mao could help USSR, making USSR more willing to help North Korea

        Military stalemate as they could not decide on the terms and conditions

        (January) Eisenhower replaced Truman as President of USA and managed to convince Rhee to accept the terms and conditions
